The short version
We collect the minimum needed to show you tee times and tell you when one opens up. We don’t sell your data, we don’t run ad trackers, and we don’t take your payment information — when you book, you do it on the golf course’s own site.
What we collect
Your email address and account details. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, an authentication provider. They store your email and password; we never see your password.
What you save and watch. The courses you favourite, and the alerts you set — which course, which date, what time window, how many players.
Your approximate location, only if you ask us to. If you tap “Use my location,” your browser sends us rough coordinates so we can sort courses by distance. We request low accuracy on purpose, we use it for that search, and we don’t store it. Type a city instead and we never see it at all.
A device token, if you turn on phone notifications. An anonymous identifier from Apple that lets us send a push to your phone. It identifies a device, not you.
What you type into Ask Caddy. Those messages are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply.
What we don't collect
No payment or card details — booking happens on the course’s site, not ours. No advertising or analytics trackers; at the time of writing this site runs none at all. No contacts, photos, or anything else from your phone.
Who else touches your data
We use a small number of services to run Caddy, and each sees only what it needs: Clerk for sign-in, Resend to send alert emails, Anthropic to power Ask Caddy, Apple to deliver push notifications, and Railway and Vercel to host the service.
We don’t sell your data or share it for advertising. Ever.
Tee time information
The tee times Caddy shows are gathered from the booking systems golf courses already use publicly. That’s information about courses, not about you, and browsing it doesn’t tell those courses anything about you. You only become known to a course when you go and book with them directly.
Your choices
You can delete an alert or un-favourite a course at any time. Turn off location in your browser or phone settings and the feature simply stops asking.
To delete your account, open Settings and choose “Delete my account”. It happens immediately and takes everything with it: your alerts, your saved courses, your registered phone, and your account itself. There’s no waiting period and nothing to email anybody about.
The one exception is course reviews. Those stay on the course page with your name and account removed, because other golfers rely on them — a course losing all its reviews because one person left is worse for everyone who stayed. Nothing in a review identifies you once the account is gone. If you want a review removed too, delete it before you delete the account, or email us.
Children
Caddy isn’t intended for anyone under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we start collecting something new, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top. During the beta, expect that to happen occasionally.
